(Sempre gostei da banda Peter, Paul and Mary. Um dia, ouvi a música 'Leaving on a jet plane' cantada por eles e gostei muito. 
Há muitas versões dessa música, mas essa, que não é nem de longe a mais conhecida, é a que eu mais gosto. 
Eu lembrava dos meus pais quando tocava essa música. Quando adquiri o violão aos 15, eu resolvi aprender a tocar. E, um dia, toquei na frente dos meus amigos e isso acarretou em eu, agora, lembrar deles também com essa música. 
Enfim, ela tem muita história pra mim. 
E, quando fui dar esse grande passo de passar um ano fora, longe de tudo e de todos, pra fazer intercâmbio, eu decidi que faria uma homenagem a todos que eu estivesse deixando pra trás. 
Foi uma forma mais poética de dizer 'Eu amo vocês' e, também, uma promessa de retorno.
Decidi também que não poderia cantar simplesmente a música com sua letra original; ela tinha que ter um significado maior ainda pra mim, então fiz uma nova letra.
